He is survived by his loving parents, Jill Abbott and Mikael Melendez, (Derik Boelman and Melissa Tramel); younger sister, Ellie Melendez; baby brother, Jameson Melendez; grandparents, Anthony and Patricia Mendez, Jon and Linda Gibson; uncles, James Navarro III, Darion Mitchell and Randall Glenn Abbott, Jr.; aunts, Jennifer Mitchell, Crystal Peters and Susan Navarro; plus numerous cousins and countless extended family and friends.

Dear Son,

Me and your mom thought it'd be fitting we sit down together and write you a “see you again soon” letter.

We were two 17 year old kids when you were gifted to us.

Our dream for you was for you to be

as beautiful as you can be,

as bright as you can be,

as loving as you can be,

as giving as you can be....little did we know you would give more to us than we'd ever give to you.

We have no doubt that your heart will continue to beat in all of us. Your creativity will continue to inspire us. And for the rest of this life we will miss you, remember you and forever be looking forward to that day when we'll meet again.
