The fourth son of seven ‘plus one’ sons, David Gene Bigler was born on October 1, 1980 in Fontana, CA to Kristine Marcia and Albert Charles Bigler.
David will be remembered most for his deep capacity to love and for his greatest desires and efforts to be a great father, husband, brother, and friend. David had a beautiful mind that was often misunderstood, underappreciated and unfairly tormented by this morally contaminated world. Yet, he always found a way to rise above the struggles of this life and his imperfect body as declared in one of the lines of his own poems, “Break free and join me.” David’s life was and is an invitation to all of us to shun indifference and to live a more humble, more loving, more grateful, less selfish, and more forgiving life. Even when he defiantly responded, “whatever”, you always knew he truly did care.
David was often found reading, playing video games, watching a movie, or listening to music, such as Pearl Jam and Collective Soul. Yet, we all knew that his greatest joy was children, especially his own children. He was captivated by their innocence and grace, and children in return felt of his genuine love and attention, not to mention his all too common scruffy beard.
Amidst the sorrow and grief, his family and friends now find comfort and peace knowing that David has been embraced in the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ and his amazing father Albert Charles Bigler who preceded him in death; we know they have anxiously awaited David’s return and they now rejoice in his merciful perfection. David Gene Bigler also returns home with his beloved grandparents, Phyllis and Gene Bigler, and Ida and Jack McElroy.
David Gene Bigler is survived by his wife Kellie and his beautiful children, Austin, Steven, Charles, Marianne, and Bella who provided him with great purpose and meaning. He is also survived by his mother, Kristine Marcia Bigler; his seven brothers, Jon, Don, Jared, Scott, Clark, Kevin, and Raul, and their wives; his cherished nieces and nephews; and many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends who will celebrate his life.
David and his family would like to thank all those who have offered their condolences and who have played a role in David’s life.
