Charlene Hunt

Charlene McGlathery “Shorty” Hunt, a resident of Ventura for 60 years, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 23, 2012 following a prolonged illness. She was born on August 9, 1933 in Shirley, Arkansas and moved to Ventura in 1952.

Charlene worked for a short time at Woolworth’s Pharmacy; however she enjoyed her life as a loving homemaker and wife.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John A. Hunt; son and daughter –in-law John M. and Deanna Hunt of Goleta, CA; daughter and son-in-law Sandra and John Dawson of Boise ID; grandchildren Melanie Cain of Beaufort SC, Keenan Hunt of San Luis Obispo, CA, Hailey, Shelby, and Chloe Dawson of Boise Idaho and one great grandson, Liam Cain of Beaufort SC.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 5:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Rd, Ventura. Graveside will take place on Friday, April 27, 2012, 11:00 A.M. at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Rd. Ventura, with The Reverend Jonathan Mulford officiating.
