Cecilia Pillado, passed away peacefully at her home in Ventura, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, May 6, 2018, following a lengthy illness, at the age of 84. She was born on November 22, 1933 to Grace and Carlos Flores and resided in Ventura all her life.
Cecilia was an amazing woman. Her smile was contagious and her laugh filled a room. She was kind, generous, and she tackled hardship with humor. Cecilia served as an auxiliary volunteer at Community Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed tending to her garden and listening to the songs of birds. Cecilia loved to travel, and Disneyland was a favorite destination of hers. Above all else, spending time with her family was what she cherished most. She had an endless capacity for love, and her heart and home were always open. It was truly an honor to have known her.
Cecilia was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joaquin Pillado, in 2001; as well as her sisters, Bertha Flores, Alice Quintana, and Jenny Gonzalez Flores; and her brother, Joseph Flores.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Joaquin Jr., Anna (Thomas), Edward (Cathy), and Veronica (Tony). She will also be remembered fondly by her grandchildren, Thomas Jr., Anthony, Daniel, Loretta, Yvette, Elaine, Rachel, Nicholas, and Marissa. She was a proud great-grandmother of eight. Cecilia is also survived by her brother, Michael Flores.
A private memorial service will be held for her family.
