His early education was in the Ventura Unified Schools and California Prep in Ojai. He enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1944 with service in England and Europe. He was wounded off of North Foreland, England, and discharged in late 1946.
Camille returned to Ventura to resume his education at Ventura Junior College, Cal Poly-San Dimas and then to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
He married Gwen Scholle on July 9, 1949. They had nine children; Debra Whitson, John Held, Jeannine Crossland, Kimberly Gleason, Scott Held, Richard Held, Dena Held, Michael and Brian Held. They divorced in 1971. He married Helen D. on July 7, 1973. They were married over 41 years.
Camille farmed in Oxnard, field and vegetable crops, walnut groves in Ventura, and citrus and avocados to the present.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father Dr. Charles E. Stuart; brother, Walton Held; and infant daughter, Dena Allison.
In addition to his wife and children, Camille is survived by grandchildren: Jodi Appleton, Jamie Borgeson, Nathan Whitson, Ashley Crossland, Camille Garcia, Austin and Tanner Held, Cody Gleason and Brooke and Natalie Held; six great-grandchildren, a niece and several nephews.
His family forever appreciates the decade of services provided by Dr. J.N. Warwar.
