I’m truly stunned and saddened to just learn today that Bob passed away so many years ago. I had the great pleasure of being a member of the very first class that Bob taught, after he took over as the Director of the School of Radiologic Technology at Harbor UCLA Medical Center.  

Bob was more than just another teacher, and he easily adopted the role of mentor, counselor - and often referee - with his unfailing smile and cheerful demeanor.  The group of characters in that class was no doubt a trial by fire for Bob, but it was his attitude and experience that held us together and ensured that we all graduated.  We weren’t an easy bunch to deal with, and he used to say what little hair he had left fell out on our classroom floor. 

I truly regret having lost touch with Bob these past years, and I will remember him always with fondness, gratitude and respect.

So sad to hear of Bob's passing.  He was my best friend growing up in Hermosa Beach in our teen years.  We played beach volleyball together, golfed, body surfed...sailed on his Dad's 12 foot sailboat and crashed it on the rocks in Palos Verdes.  We spent many, many hours together and had a ton of fun.   I was honored to be his best man when he and Susy married.  Bob was the only person I know who ever wanted to "split a beer".   My deepest sympathy goes out to Susy and family.

A huge, huge, huge loss for everyone who came into contact with Bob. When I met him in the SBCC x-ray program he struck me as one of the nicest guys ever. Always stayed late to help us students, and even worked with us longer then he was supposed to while doing clinical. His funny stories, pleasant demeaner and positive outlook on everything will never be forgotten. He was a good hearted individual and left us way too soon. Bob was one of a kind. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Rest in peace Bob.

Susan and Family,
I miss Bob.  He was a nice man.  I learned so much more about him at the celebration of his life on Saturday and was not the least bit surprised by the outpouring of love for him by all who knew him.  Bob and I met as we supported our wives in their pursuit of their passion-Art.  We would typically meet at Art receptions, have a glass of wine, admire our wives art works and talk about their artistic efforts.  We would talk some about our individual occupations.  Bob made it clear to me how much he loved teaching and how much he loved his occupation. We sometimes would talk about our families and their challenges growing up and having families of their own.  I know he loved his family and was proud of them.  When Natalie came into his life, she became the center of his attention.  Yes he loved the rest of the family but Natalie was special to him.  
Bob also had nice things to say when we met.  And, yes he did make me feel as if I was the only one he was interested in talking with when we talked.  I consider myself blessed to have known him.

I'm going to miss Bob, especially his smile. I was one of his students and he was my favorite teacher. Bob had a way to light up a room with hes smile and stories that we i always looked forward to hearing. I'm going to miss seeing you around vcmc.

I worked with Bob at VCMC on Sundays. He was a real joy to be with. He was always upbeat and the epitome of a "real nice guy".I feel priveleged to have been able to hang out with him. We were Sunday "buddies". He was a fast and efficient xray partner and was always in the teaching mode. We would always challenge each other with the "oldies but goodies", trying to find a song that the other could not name the artist. We grew up in the same era and love music.We lost him way too soon and it will take me and the people he touched a very long time to get over his loss. I feel priveleged to have known him. His students would do themselves a great service to have him as a role model-he was an excellent radiology tech, teacher and mentor. I will never forget Bob.Tom Stout(VCMC)

  I am so sorry for what you and your family have had to go through and are going through now. 

  I met Bob when he took over the Department Manager position at Santa Paula. It was a very difficult time for most of us because we had just lost a good friend. There just could not have been anyone better to step in and help get us all through that difficult transition. I still remember when he had us all over for barbeque at your wonderful home. I was lucky to work with him until he took over the teaching position at SBCC which he seemed so happy to be taking. 
 I have got to say I am unable to conjure up a single time seeing him when he wasn't smiling. Every time he would see someone he'd light up like he was genuinely thrilled to see you. Bob has left a positive impact on countless patients, students, colleagues, and friends. He will be missed immensely but surely never forgotten.

I am so sorry for your enormous loss. Bob's office was three doors down from mine. Each day that I was on campus, he would walk by my office window, smile and wave at me. Never did I see him go by without a smile. Bob was a beautiful human being, so kind, thoughtful, a gentle soul. The view from my office window will not be the same. I will miss him. Sue and family--  I have not met you, but worked with Bob at SBCC the last 5 years.  He was the most wonderful, friendly, warm man -- he always went out of his way to make me feel at home when I first started teaching in the nursing program.  I loved looking at the pictures in the photo gallery, and seeing Bob as a child, young man, husband, a father, and a lover of life that he always was.  We will miss him greatly at SBCC.

I am so sorry for the loss of your dear Bob.  At SBCC he was truly a smiling, calm presence and a joy to be associated with.  I loved the pictures!

I always looked forward when Bob would come into the mailroom and pick up his mail.  Bob always brought a ray of sunshine into my office. The one main thing that I will miss is my conversations with Bob, he was always so positive and uplifting. My prayers are with his family.

I met Bob when he was on the International Education Committee at S.B.C.C. He was always kind and thoughtful...In times past we would call someone "holy" or "full of light" in the village...they were different...this light was present in this holy family man and educator.

Bob will surely be missed at City College.  We would "chit-chat' in the hall by the Health Technologies Office or in the Nursing Lab, when he would come by to borrow something for his class. Always with that pleasant smile and twinkle in his eye.  
What a loss for the students who will not benefit from his expertise and what a gift he gave to the students who learned from his wisdom.

He was probably the nicest person I've ever met.  I'm going to miss his sense of humor.

I had the pleasure of working with Bob at Community Memorial Hospital.  He was a true gentleman -- calm, polite, and quick with a smile.  I especially remember him as a great story teller, with accounts of family adventures that captivated listeners.  He was taken much too soon.  My condolences to Susan and the family.

I've never met a man that exuded so much light and joy as Bob did, I never saw him without a smile or grin on his face.   He always had encouraging words for others and seemed to find the utmost pleasure in making others happy. His memory will live on with those that had the good fortune of knowing him.

I always looked forward to hearing stories from Bob about his family, his students, and his work. He was a very proud grandfather and we often talked about our grandchildren. He was also a very proud husband, and often told me about his wife's art work with such a proud look on his face. He was my friend and co-worker at SBCC, and when my oldest daughter was murdered, Bob never let a day go by when he didn't ask me how I was doing, and he really meant it. Bob really knew what it felt like to lose something precious, and with his passing we have all lost a rare gem and a forgiving heart. I hope his family has lots of good memories to keep them going as they continue to live in the present with a gentle touch by the angel we now know as Bob.

My heart goes out to Bob's family.  He truly was one of the kindest souls one could ever meet.  His presence at SBCC was always full of optimism, kind words, funny stories, and his smile.  Everyone adored him.  He will be greatly missed.  I'm sure the number of lives he has touched is too many to count.  I wish peace and comfort for his family.

I had the honor and privilege of meeting Bob when I shadowed my brother Johnny during his academic year last year.  I was visiting my brother Johnny Morgan from out of state and, at the time, was contemplating entering into a medical field.  

I could see what a great teacher Bob was and I was envious of Johnny for having such a wonderful role model.

It was a most enjoyable day at the hospital.  Bob really knew how to make learning fun~the mark of a great teacher/humanitarian~and, when I left he asked me a very unexpected (as I was just a visitor), yet gracious question...'Did you learn everything you needed to know today?'  I was so touched by his sincere generosity.  I felt so lucky just to have had the opportunity, and here, he wanted to make sure I felt fulfilled that day.  What a wonderful guy!  I will never forget that day, or Bob.

Bob was one of the kindest and most luminous people I have ever met.  I feel like an Angel has been called home.  He was my instructor at SBCC and was admired and liked by all.  He was infinitely wise and patient.  His smile lit up every room he stepped in to.  I enjoyed working on Sundays at The Ventura County Medical Center with him and learning from his infinite expertise and his kind way with all of the patients and staff.  I know his passing leaves a hole that will be difficult, if not impossible, to fill at the School and the Hospital.

I was deeply saddened by the news of Bob's passing. The world will be at a loss without his personality and nature. I knew Bob at CMH, heck I hired the guy and I treasured my time with Bob while I was there.  He was a light into all of our lives. So, toast a glass to Bob and live his dream - be the better person.

Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of a great man, husband, father, grandfather, teacher, co-worker, and friend. I had Bob as a teacher for the last two years at SBCC and clinical instructor at VCMC and CMH. It was always the highlight of the day when he showed up at clinical because you knew he was going to have some great war stories of past radiologic experiences. Plus, he brought doughnuts to boot! I thoroughly enjoyed working Sundays with him at VCMC doing crossword puzzles and trading stories about baseball, music, and movies. My heart is broken and I will miss him terribly. I hope that God will comfort you in this time of mourning.

Bob will be greatly missed!  I was in his first Radiologic Technology course at SBCC in 2003.  He had such a great sense of humor, love for the field, great advice, and wonderful smile.  It was because of him I decided to enroll in the program.  I am forever grateful! My heart goes out to his family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Bob when I worked at CMH and played on the coed softball team.  He always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude.  I am so sorry to hear of your loss and pray for comfort from the Lord for you all.
