passed way on May 6. 2020 He was born July 25, 1921 in Albany, NY. Lived in Peekskill through childhood. Attented and trained at Elmira Aviation Ground School in NY, where he met Marian, his wife. Jack enlisted in the Navy July 1941. He was a WWII veteran and served in the Philllipines at the end of his enlistment. After the service he was in the insurance Business, as an account executive with Alexander and Alexander in Elmira, NY. He retired in 1984 and moved to Englewood, Fl. where they enjoyed traveling and being a major part of their community, involved greatly as tour guides.
Jack was a 74 year lifetime member of the American Legion. John was also a member of the Lions Club in Elmira, and a Member of the Watkin’s Glen Yacht Club where they both enjoyed boating.
Predeceased in death by wife Marian of 73 years, and Navy Retired Senior Chief, Son, Roger Denike. Survived by daughter JoAnn Carnes, Venice, Fl., and William Denike, [Mary] , Elmira, N.Y. , Granddaughter, Amy Carnes, Lunenburg, Mass., Grandson, Stephen Carnes[Stacy], Louisville, Ky. Granddaughter Sarah Denike, Elmira, NY Great granddaughters, Savannah Carnes, and Sydney Carnes.
Private service will be held for family.
