She was born on June 24, 1930 in Honolulu, Hawaii on the island
of Oahu and was of Portuguese descent.
Her mother’s maiden name was Adelaide Borges, father-John Souza
and step dad Paul Sarber.
A very beautiful lady that touched the lives of so many, with her kind
and gentle ways. She had such a giving heart. She was a great wife,
mom, grandma and aunt. She loved her family and truly enjoyed every
minute spent with them and doing for them. Adeline had a playful spirit
and a lovely voice. She would break out into song whenever the mood
struck her!
She was a great story teller, cook, baker and enjoyed cake decorating,
Floral arranging and interior design. All self taught talents. She had a
great sense of humor and wit that she carried with her to the end.
She enjoyed going on cruises with her sister Winnie and her niece
Barbara, with whom she was very close.
Adeline worked at Venice Hospital for many years in food service.
She had a long life and she lived it very well. She was a young girl
living in Hawaii when Pearl Harbor was bombed. She remembered it
very well. At only 11 years old she was brave and unafraid of what was
happening.
Adeline will be greatly missed by all who knew and Loved her.
She was married to Ken Smith for 50 plus years and is survived by
her 3 daughters. Priscilla Smith, Linda Smith (Gene) and
Cindy Ramadhar (Tyron). All reside in Florida. 4 grandchildren,
6 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Denise Gauss Simon.
