Steven L. Murphy was born October 13th, 1950 in Las Angeles California to Earnest and Grace Murphy. His family relocated to Vancouver Washington when he was a young boy, where he resided for the remainder of his life. He graduated from fort Vancouver high school in 1968 and shortly after entered into the armed forces. Steven served in the Vietnam War until 1974. He married Theresa Murphy in 1979 and began a life as a husband and father. He obtained a welding degree at Clark College in 1981. He became a member with the boilermakers union and Portland shipyards where he retired in 2010.
He is survived by his ex-wife Theresa Murphy, 5 children Jason, Simeon, Mikeya, Maralee, and Tiffany Murphy. Also his brother Daniel Murphy and sister Janet Lloyd. 9 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Steven had many more family, friends, and loved ones whom he took under his wing, guided, mentored, and cared for.
Steven Leonard Murphy lived a life built on commitment, compassion, and was filled with love. A man of courage, honor, and dedication. A man who be dearly missed.
