Sheri Ann was born March 2, 1969 in Oregon City, Oregon to Jerry Striefel and Jackie (Jarvis) Striefel where she lived during her preschool years. Her blond tresses, big blue eyes, and adventuresome nature easily won the hearts and attention of family, friends and strangers.
Later living in Gladstone, Oregon with her father and step-mother, Dianne Striefel, she attended Rex Putnam High School with her step-brother and sister, Loren and Rebecca Davis. In 1986 she married Wesley McCollum and on September 27, 1986 they welcomed their son, TJay Wesley. For 3 years TJay held the title of only child and first grandchild until the birth of his sister, Erica Brittney on August 18, 1989. Erica has always held the title of "Baby Girl", affectionately given to her by her adoring mother.
Sheri lived in Washington for the past 20 years, primarily in the Washougal area. Her most recent employer was Wal-Mart in Vancouver.
For the past couple years, Sheri lived with a friend on the shores of the Little Washougal River. On Monday, February 27th, Sheri accidentally fell into the river and drowned.
We all have trails and struggles in life, as did Sheri; but through love and grace it is the heart of a person and the memories of the happiness we shared that we treasure. Treasured memories we shared with Sheri are times spent camping, fishing, beach-combing, family vacations, holidays, the many stray kittens she adopted, her kind and generous heart and sharp wit.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 3rd at 11:00 am at Abundant Life Church at 17241 SE Hemrich Road, Damascus, Oregon. The family invites you to join in a celebration of Sheri's life followed by a reception at the church.
The family extends their sincere gratitude for your prayers and support. Our faith sustains and comforts us, believing we will spend eternity with our beloved Sheri.
Arrangements under the direction of Vancouver Funeral Chapel, Vancouver, WA.
