I was so surprised to learn today of Elean’s death and of course I was very shocked.   Although I had not seen Elean for several years I have only very fond memories of her.  She was a fabulous hostess and cook, a funny and loving friend.  She loved her job and was amazingly good at it.  Most of all I recall her love for Debby and the thoughtfulness she had for her friends and family.  I know she will be missed by many and I know she enjoyed her life while here.

I will deeply miss all the chats we have had over the years at our regular meetups, from pop culture to current affairs, from culinary to personal stories. I’ll always remember Elean for her wisdom, authenticity, and her kindness. Each time I come by her hair studio I enjoy our shared laughters, cycling, and take in her perspective on life. 

I’m so grateful to have met her. She is so talented, yet humble and down to earth. She’s touch so many lives in the best way.

RIP Elaine, you’ll always be in my heart.

Elean was a true friend who went above and beyond to help us settle into our new life in Vancouver. She welcomed us in open arms and provided us with invaluable guidance on everything from finding navigating the city to finding the best places to shop and eat. She always had a helpful tip or suggestion for any situation. We will always remember her kindness, generosity, and wavering support. Elean will be deeply missed but her memory and impact on our lives will live forever.

Elean (and Debby) taught me how to snowboard and I'm forever grateful and blessed for her friendship over the years. She was like an older sister of our group. Patient, awesome cook, great hairstylist, knowledgeable, kind, caring, outgoing, thoughtful and hard working.  I miss you Elean. 

Elean was one of a kind, we met at school; we studied together and laughed together.  We have lived far from each other; we are close in our hearts.  She also took good care of the family, always with kindness and attention. She fought for her life even when it was at darkest. The positive attitude was a key to who she was.  She was and she will always be in my heart.

Dear Debby, I know there are no words that can ease your pain knowing how much Elean meant to you; may all your wonderful memories comfort you during this difficult time.  You are not alone , and I am sending all my love and support to you.

We are deeply saddened to learn of our dear friend Elean's passing. We feel grateful to have known Elean, she was kind, genuine, and had a great sense of humour. We are going to miss her warmth and smile and all the great conversations we had during our monthly visit to the salon. Tayto will miss Elean's hugs as well. Elean will forever be in our hearts.

Words cannot express the loss of our dear friend, Elean.  She was funny, generous, considerate, talented, caring and a great cook and a great host to anyone who visited her in Vancouver.  We had fun growing up together and she didn’t change a bit at all and always made sure her friends had great times.  She was still so real, so funny and so hospitable. Nobody could have predicted how fast her illness progressed.  Elean never complained to me and always hoped for the best outcome.  They said time heals, well, I say time will remind us all what a great friend you were, Elean, you will be dearly missed!

November 2014, Elean loved to cook at home.  She was so generous and hospitaliness.

Elean did her very best driving us to Seattle. I knew she wasn't like driving far. We very much appreciated her kindness

The news of your passing away was a week ago, but the reality of it still has not settled in.  Too many little memories keep springing in to my mind...your generous hospitality with summer BBQs at  your home, oh the laughters n good foods n fond memories. You are always in tune with all the show biz n gossips, always a good friend to talk to, always helpful in any way you can. 

Rest in peace and comfort in heaven, and hope to see you there someday.

Elean had many talents, she's smart, funny, and caring all at once.  Able to put together things without looking at a manual, cooking good home food for a dear friend’s birthday, running a successful hair salon, bringing dinners for new ill-prepared dog parents, she had all things figured out.  A thoughtful independent thinker and witty personality, she was unforgettable.  Rest in love and peace, Elean.
