She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and woman of many skills. She enjoyed baking for her loved ones, made many attempts to instill her crafts in her granddaughters, and truly relished the time spent with her great grandchildren. She was an avid gardener of roses and vegetables, loved knitting, crocheting, and often designed and sewed her own garments. Her gentle artistry and thoughtful heart will be deeply missed.
She was an entrepreneur in her home country running the family store while raising her young family. Despite the challenges faced on immigrating to a new country, Virginia raised her family true to her core values and principles. Throughout her time, she made many acquaintances resulting in life lasting friendships, embracing them as family. Her volunteer work commenced at a young age in her home country, instructing young girls in the art of sewing and knitting, and continued throughout her life becoming a long-time member of the Hispanic Senior’s group in Vancouver.
Virginia was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Humberto Lopez, daughter, Ileana Pastora Lopez, son, Joaquin Ernesto Lopez, and her grandson, Milton Lopez Jr. With sadness, she leaves behind her four sons, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and her extensive family and friends.
The family would like to thank everyone who cared for and opened their hearts to Virginia, with their greatest warmth and gratitude. Her memory will live forever in the hearts of her loved ones.
