Mr. Theodore George Peters

It is with great sadness that our beloved father (Ted) passed away on December 27, 2019. He passed peacefully in the comfort of his home. Surrounded by his family and those who cared for and loved him. He leaves behind his children Georgia, Harry Thomas, Cynthia (Matt Cicci), grandchildren Stephanie (Dustin Drews), Hannah (Vilhelm Sundin), Luisa, John, Harry, Alexia, Sofia, great-granddaughter Avery and many relatives in Vancouver, California, Washington State and Athens, Greece.

He is pre-deceased by his wife Zenia, parents Thomas and Helen, and his brother Harry. Ted was born and raised in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. His family moved to Vancouver in 1948, and lived in the Kitsilano area. Ted graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1952.

He first met the brothers of his future wife Zenia, who then became his lifelong sweetheart and was married in 1952. They moved into their one and only home in the University Endowment Lands and raised their family. There he played an active role in the community.

During this time Ted turned his attention to business and started an advertising company and had begun to pursue real estate.

Eventually his projects grew and he built Westwood Mall, in Coquitlam. He also acquired further real estate in and around Vancouver.

Ted lived and loved life. He had a passion for art, music and travel, and was a true friend to many. He especially enjoyed spending time with his friends and family in Maui.

He always encouraged education and the drive for truth and success in life. His always positive yet humble attitude made him the person he became. He gave inspiration to others.

Ted will always be remembered for his warmth, friendship, great humour, generosity and dedication to his family.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers who loved and cared for Ted, particularly Lilibeth and Edison who were by his side for the last 5 years. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2020, at 7:00 pm at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 4500 Arbutus Street, Vancouver, B.C. where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 14 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
