Paul Ellis Nielsen

Born on May 17th, 1943 in East Vancouver, BC, Paul is survived by his 12 children, 25 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and his 7 sisters and 2 brothers. He is joining Rosemary, the love of his life, who has been living 23 controversy-free years in heaven…that is about to change. The man, known as Dad, Papa, Poppa, Grandpa, Senior and Butch, always knew how to make anyone he came across feel special and uncomfortable at the same time. He read the obituaries every morning. When asked “why?”, he would respond: “just checking if I’m in here”. So, Dad if you are reading this, you finally made it.

A prayer service will be held on Friday, January 17th at 6pm and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 18th at 12pm at St-Francis of Assisi Parish, 2025 Napier Street in Vancouver. Interment will follow the Mass at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street in Burnaby (Heaven’s Gate section).
