Dr. Muir Jock Leung passed away on November 30, 2024 after a short illness. He was a very busy general practitioner and known for his full “Bah ha ha” laugh. He was one of the first few Chinese physicians of the time, starting his practice on Broadway, near Granville Street in the early 1960’s. He was dedicated to the care of thousands of people who considered him their lifelong family doctor. This included the babies whose births he attended and the elderly, some of whom he visited at home when they could not visit his office.
One of his greatest pleasures was travelling the world with his beloved wife, Marilyn Yet Ming Leung, nee Yow. He was heartbroken when he lost her in 2010 but managed to “paddle along” as he would say, until his passing at the age of 93 years. He managed to live independently until the end. He is survived by five daughters, two son in-laws, and six grandchildren.
He asked that a brief note be shared with his friends and former patients to let them know of his passing. A small family celebration will be held in the future.
In lieu of cards and flowers, he asked for donations to
a) the Heart and Stroke Association of Canada (https://app-hsfdonation.heartandstroke.ca/?pagename=DMDonationForm&s_locale=en_CA&s_fT=cont&s_pres=hsweb&s_cscid=hsweb_wtg_inhon )
