Melissa Wai King Dong

At 20 years of age Wai King was an accomplished student in China before deciding to marry her husband Tony to live a new life in Canada.

She found employment with the Canadian Fishing Company and after some years her peers selected her as their Union Representative and a trusted position she proudly served for many years before she retired.

Her predeceased husband Tony, passed away on November 1986 and she is survived by her four children and four grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the administrators and staff of East Vancouver's Agecare residence on Porter Street for their compassion and care of our precious mother.

A visitation for Melissa will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835 E Hastings St, Vancouver, British Columbia, where the funeral service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, British Columbia.

There will be a reception dinner after the funeral internment.
