Maria Alice Leal

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother and vóvó Maria Alice Leal on December 5, 2011 at SMH ICU Dept. with her children at her side. Born in Pêro Moniz, Cadaval, Portugal on November 4, 1937. Predeceased by her husband João Vieira Leal on June 10, 1995. She will forever be our best friend and guardian angel.

She leaves behind sons John Manuel (Helen) of Oliver, BC, Paulo Jorge (Maureen) and daughter Elizaete (Victor Santos) both of Delta, BC. Granddaughters: Lisa (Doug Fenton), Christina, Nicole, Ashley, Chelsea, Marisa, Brittni, Faith and grandson Owen. Great granddaughter Catarina and great grandsons Aryan, Rylie and nieces and nephews. She leaves all of us with memories of a strong, kind woman with a sarcastic sense of humour that will continue on in those she loved.

To the staff at Surrey Memorial ICU Dept, we are forever grateful for your support and kindness and a special thank you to Dr. Yerman – Mom so appreciated the truth.
