Beloved daughter of Eugene (predeceased 2009) and Anna (predeceased 2020) Kowal of Coniston. Loving sister of Patricia Catherine Kowal (predeceased 2016) and Barbara Kocijowsky (Jerry) of Oakville . Survived by her only daughter , Eugenie Annie Kowal of British Columbia and Ontario.
Beloved Aunt to Sonia Stasiuk ( Omari Spence) of Brampton. Great Aunt to their children, Riley and Lillian. In 1989, Luba graduated from Simon Fraser University with a double major in Arts and English literature. She then attended teachers college at Lakehead University while also obtaining librarian credentials at Cambrian College.
Luba became an elementary teacher and taught in Smithers and Mission. Her career profession came from her heart of being a kind and loving soul. Proud of her own Ukrainian Heritage where she was a member of Descent of the Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Church in Chilliwack. She also shared a deep admiration for Aboriginal culture. Luba loved music, learning about history, giving to those in need, viewing vintage antiques and had aspirations for travelling.
Her time also consisted of participating in social causes that aligned with her beliefs of a more equal world. She is described as loving, smart and witty. Luba will also be remembered by her many friends such as The Saunders family of Williams Lake, Evans family of Vancouver. The Makuch family of Mississauga, Ontario. For anyone who knows Luba, her daughter is asking that you use the “Pay it Forward” initiative where you repay in a simple act of kindness in honour of Luba. Vichnaya Pamyat Luba
