Born in Shanghai, China, in 1946, Linda's life journey took her to the corridors of UBC and the professional realm at the Bank of Montreal in Vancouver and Montreal.
Linda devoted a substantial part of her life to Lions Club International. Her impactful contributions included serving as Lions Club 19-A District Governor from 2011 to 2012. During her active years from 2000 to 2018, Linda passionately spearheaded programs supporting prescription eye glasses for seniors, the ultrasound project at BC Children’s Hospital, the Kenyan solar light project, and various other vital causes. Her leadership extended beyond her tenure as she mentored future District Governors, ensuring the continuity of essential projects she initiated.
Linda is predeceased by her parents Chick Wei and Florence Wong and brother Albert Wei. She is survived by her close friend David Thompson; children Jonathan Wong, Natasha (Keddie) Brown, Andrea Wong; grandson Asher Brown; and siblings Anne Louie and David Wei.
The memorial for Linda will be held Friday, January 12, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mount Pleasant Universal Funeral Home, 306 E 11th Ave, Vancouver, BC. The inurnment will be held the same day at 1:00PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC.
