The family of Laura Boxeur are sad to announce her passing in the early morning of January 18, 2023 after a lengthy battle with kidney disease. Laura was born to Ina and Emile Boxeur at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. At 9 months of age the family moved to Williams Lake where she remained throughout her life. Laura attended Williams Lake Elementary and in 1973 graduated from Columneetza Sr. Secondary.
After Graduation Laura attended Cariboo College in Kamloops and received a Certificate in Office Administration.
Laura was friendly and outgoing and had many friends. As a teen you would find her hanging out at Dog N Suds for coffee or driving around town. Laura loved music and you would often find her singing away. She sang in the school choir, and she also played in the school band. Her love of music continued throughout her life. She sang in the Seniors Choir and the Catholic Church Choir prior to her illness.
Laura had a strong faith. She was a member of the Catholic Woman’s League and she volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Laura’s first job was with the Ministry of Forests, she then worked for the Workers Compensation Board, attended Hairdressing School, and finally went to work at Lignum Limited where she was a lumber shipper, she remained in this job until retirement.
Laura was a great Auntie, she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. They looked forward to baking Christmas cookies with Auntie and spending time at the cabin playing in the water with her.
Laura was very friendly and met many people throughout her life. She was kind, caring, loving and would help anyone. Laura was predeceased by her parents Emile and Ina Boxeur. Laura is survived by her sisters Lynne Boxeur and Louise Boxeur, her brothers George Boxeur (Felma), Shane Boxeur, and Ken Boxer (Diane), as well as her nieces and nephews Sarah Moore (Chris), Emily Watson (Brian), Jayden Boxeur, Taylor Boxeur, Cathy Arsenault (Bill), Nikki Boxer, Kendra Boxer, Jordan Boxeur (Cassidy) Chris Boxeur, Josh Boxeur, and Robin Boxer (Christina) as well as 13 Great nieces and nephews and many extended family members. Laura had many friends who will miss her deeply.
Funeral services will be announced.
