Sunrise: January 23, 1969 - Sunset: June 20, 2024
It is with great sadness that we advise the passing of Kim Ileen Mitchell on June 20, 2024. Kim was born to her parents Clare Margaret Johnston and Richard Lorne Mitchell on January 23, 1969, at Vancouver General Hospital. She grew up in East Vancouver. She attended Lord Selkirk Elementary School and Ridge Meadows High School. She was excited to complete her flagging certificate and her high level Industrial First Aid and Level 3 First Aid. She worked as a flagger for many years and you can find her name on a placard located on the Sea to Sky Highway as one of the builders. Kim loved her children and her fur babies. Her time was spent at the river or in nature, she had even raised some birds. She was mechanically inclined which brought on her love for Harley Davidson bikes. Her hobbies include, gardening, cooking, and singing. Her favourite bands were AC/DC and Guns & Roses. She will be remembered for her loving, positive, outgoing, funny and fierce demeanor, some may say Crazy.
Kim is survived by her children, Rosalind Marie Drewry and Everett Glenn Drewry, grandchildren; Phoenix Lila Drewry, Jakoby Edward Lau, Serenity Ileen Weisz, Hayden Lee Glenn Drewry-Shykora, Ryker Surcon, Harper Clayton Abel and Elliot Glenn Abell, siblings; Lisa Anne Andrew, Richard Lorne Mitchell (Harmony) and Tracy Andrea Janette Mitchell, husband John Evans, aunties; Orene Johnston and Jennifer Lee Johnston, cousins; Leeland Askew, Orene Askew, Jina Johnston-Hall, Kerrie Johnston, Tony Johnston and Hitam Treadwell, as well as many loving family and friends.
A Shaker Service for Kim will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Shaker Church - 104 Mathias Road, West Vancouver, BC.
