Ken interviewed and hired me in the summer of 1979 after my first year at BCIT. It was my introduction to field land surveying.  I worked at Ken K. Wong & Associates every summer while attending BCIT and the University of Calgary. I was also employed there following university.

Ken built his firm based on professionalism and ensuring every survey project was completed correctly and accurately...regardless of costs. In the surveying community, you could always trust the work of a Ken K. Wong survey plan.

I've tried to instilled the principles that I have learned from Ken in my everyday practice.  I will be forever grateful to Ken for giving me the start in my career and setting the example to follow.

Ken gave me my first job in the surveying business. He was always fair to me. I learnt the technical aspect of surveying from the university but I learnt from Ken what I couldn't learn from school: professionalism, fairness in business, respect for your peers and pride of ones work. I wish I can be half as good a professional as Ken was. Ken, your legacy lives on some of us who are fortunate enough to have been influenced by you.

I've always called him Ken.  Now I'd like to refer to him as Uncle Ken because we share the same last name.

Uncle Ken was a very decent human being, generous, kind, compassionate.  He could be at times stubborn but he was fair and he meant well.

Uncle Ken, you'll be missed and remembered by many and your legacy will live on for a long time.

My sincere sympathies to all the uncles and aunts and your families. You are in my thoughts.

Uncle Ken visited our family frequently during the summer when we were growing up in Oakland, CA. 
I have fond memories of Uncle Ken's contagious laughs and joy when he shared his wonderful life experience with us. We enjoyed having a grand uncle visiting us and having some very special dishes that my Mom prepared only for these very special occasions. As the oldest girl of the family, I often looked up to him and hoped that I would be a professional like Uncle Ken someday. He was an inspiration to us kids who wanted to make a difference in this world. Uncle Ken never forgot about his roots, always eager to make connections with his extended relatives.

Uncle Ken lived a long and productive life. May you rest in peace.

Ken was a very substantial member of our OIP (Old Important People) retired group of BC Land Surveyors and we will miss him and all the interesting information he contributed to our luncheons. !!  He will also be fondly remembered by all surveyors in the future when they encounter his registered survey plans through out the province because his work was a very professional legacy.

Please accept my deepest condolences in the passing of Ken.
I first met Ken in March 1954 in Kitimat after arriving in Vancouver from Norway and hired by Alcan to work with Ken. Ken as a registered BC Land Surveyor was hired by Alcan to oversee the layout of the new town of Kitimat including lot layouts and services as well as material quantities. From day one on, Ken helped me settle in as a new-Canadian and proved to be a very good friend for the nine months I worked in Kitimat. At one time later in Vancouver I met Ken briefly and also visited him at home. My memories of Ken include he was an extremely knowledgeable land surveyor, and honest and fair in dealing with people working for him.
I will never forget Ken, he was a great Canadian.

Uncle Ken, a good man who had made a difference. 

Uncle Ken was on a trade commission trip to China thirty-six years ago, one of the stops was at Guangzhou (then the city of Canton); where he contacted his first cousin Zhen Mei and her family the first time. The oldest daughter of the family Ann-Ying Liang was an undergraduate in the Institute of Foreign Languages of Guangzhou with concentration studies in English. The visit was short when it came to say good-bye, Ann received a suggestion from Uncle Ken that he would sponsor her to come to the West to continue and expand her studies in a more nurturing environment. What an unexpectedly huge commitment, a God-sent blessing to the family if you already know the situation in China in the era towards the end of the 70s. 

Uncle Ken fulfilled his unselfish commitment: brought Ann to Canada, financially sponsored her getting through the pre-university program at Columbia College, then obtaining the degree of Bachelor of Commerce at Simon Fraser University. Ann was very fortunate to live and grow under such generosity and support from Uncle Ken and his kind and loving extended family. Uncle Ken's great deed had brought much admiration among our family and friends whenever we told Ann's true story.

Uncle Ken had taught us to be a person of upholding principle and honesty. We had the opportunities to learn this great quality from him during Ann's schooling years, and later years through our visits. His meticulous quality has set a great example for the younger generation beyond his professionalism. His kindness is permeating through our lives.

Uncle Ken, you are dearly missed by us! May you rest in peace!

Ken was a good surveyor.  It was an honour and a privilege to have worked for him and partnered with him for nineteen years.  He was more concerned with the quality of the job then the profit.  The abundance of quality plans signed by Ken is a clear testament to his character.

Ken faithfully attended AGM and LMG meetings, seminars and was a regular at OIP (Old Important People) luncheons.

May you Rest in peace.  Your work is done.

We first met Mr. Wong (we call him Uncle Kent since he is related to Maisie's mother) in Winnipeg over 25 years ago. He was young and energetic, nice and caring. He was on his way to Winsor for a conference and stop over to see us. We had a goodtime having BBQ and he even help a bit in chopping wood.

We came to Vancouver to visit Uncle Ken many times. He was generous, always invite us to lunch and dinner and show us around Vancouver. We still have several pictures taken with him at his office in Burnaby.  

Uncle Ken is a caring person, thoughtful and considerate to his staffs and siblings. He always shares his wisdom, knowledge and experience with us, the younger generation.  

We will miss him, I am sure many friends, and family will feel the same. May you rest in peace Uncle Ken.
