Jyoji George Nakatsu

George Jyoji Nakatsu, loving husband to Silina, father to Terence (Julianna), Crystal (Mark), grandfather to Kassia and Karis, brother to Terumi (Victor) and Ray (Elaine) and Uncle to many nephews and nieces passed away peacefully at his home in Burnaby, BC with all his family by his side on March 2nd, 2024. A private funeral and cremation service took place on March 22nd, 2024.

George was born in Greenwood, BC to Teruo and Miyoko Nakatsu. He grew up in East Vancouver, attended Strathcona Elementary and Britannia High Schools.

George obtained his Bachelor of commerce degree at UBC. He then articled with the accounting firm of Ernst and Ernst and obtained his Chartered accountant designation. During his career, George worked in both industry and government. He retired in 2005 from the District of North Vancouver.

During his marriage, George was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, dancing, going on trips, and spending time with his family. He also volunteered as a coach for junior baseball and soccer for a time.
