Guo Yu Yu

先父早年隨父母在家鄉求學和生活，直至上世紀五十年代初因工作搬遷到廣州，先後任職於廣州同生機器廠，海運局修船廠，廣州港務局，廣州市新中國船廠，并因努力勤勞的工作和樂於助人的性情得到領導和同事們的喜愛與尊敬。一九八七年一月以主管生產的工程師身分在新中國船廠退休。

從一九八八年三月因家庭團聚而移民到加拿大溫哥華，秉承一貫好學與積極的精神，在溫哥華漢記麵廠服務十年，於一九九八年退休。

先父育有五女一子，四代同堂，均各有專長，家庭幸福和樂。

先父不幸於二零二二年十一月十四日於溫哥華安祥離世，享年九十五歲。追思儀式訂於二零二二年十一月二十六日上午9時30分 在 溫哥華 孟碧珊世界殯儀館 舉行，謹此訃告。

My late father Guo Yu Yu, a native of Hebian Village of Taishan County in Guangdong Province, China, was born on September 25, 1927. Dad married to my mum Mu Lian Choi on December 19, 1958.

Dad studied and lived in his hometown with his parents in his early years until he moved to Guangzhou for work in the 1950s. He first worked at Guangzhou Tong Sheng Machine Factory, then Shipyard of Maritime Bureau, Guangzhou Port Authority, and lastly at Guangzhou New China Shipyard. A dedicated hard worker, Dad was well loved and respected by his colleagues. In January 1987, he retired at the New China Shipyard as an engineer in charge of production.

Reunifying with his family, Dad moved to Vancouver in March 1988. Adhering to his consistent studious and positive spirit, he worked for Hon Kee Noodle Factory in Vancouver for ten years and retired in 1998.

A father of five daughters and a son, Dad was blessed with a happy family with gifted grandchildren and great grandchildren in his long-lived life.

At the age of 95, Dad peacefully passed away on November 14, 2022 in Vancouver. A funeral service for him will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 9:30 am at Mount Pleasant Universal Funeral Home.
