George Popeniuk

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of George Popeniuk at the age of 86 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. George is predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Virginia Rose. He is survived by his adoring sister Mary (Babs) Wedmark, his four children, Rob (Linda), Len (Brenda), Debbie (Brian), Cheryl (Mark), his twelve grandchildren Kyle (Kim), Trevor, Derek (Angela), Chris (Cheryl), Dustin, Rebecca (Greg), Lucas (Gillian), Adam (Ashley), Melissa (Jeff), Nick, Ben and Samantha and twelve great-grandchildren Noah, Isaiah, Brody, Anna Leigh, Tetiana, Drake, Van, Cash, Lincoln, Seamus, Kieren and Rowan. Sincerest thanks to Dr. Cheung and the dedicated staff at BC Cancer Agency Vancouver Centre for their compassionate and supportive care. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 7 at 12:30 pm at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, 5390 Fraser St, Vancouver, followed at 2:30 pm by inurnment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Burnaby. If desired, donations may be made in George’s memory to the BC Cancer Foundation.
