November 21, 1929 – December 31, 2013
It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Edwin.
He passed away quietly in the early morning hours with his family by his side.
Edwin is survived by Lai Jean, his wife of 55 years; his children David (Tamara), Carolyn, Brenda and Andrew (Helga); and grandchildren Ryan, Christopher, Matthew, Rachel and Michelle. He also leaves his brothers Kenden, Edward (Elaine), Edson (Sylvia), many relatives and so many friends.
Born in Bashaw, AB and raised in Edmonton. He graduated as a Civil Engineer from the University of Alberta in 1954. He worked for CP Rail and BC Rail taking him from Montreal, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Victoria to Vancouver. Active in the church, Edwin was also especially content at home and working in his garden.
In lieu of flowers, it was Edwin’s wish for donations to be made to Chown Memorial and Chinese United Church or one of his favourite charities: Canadian Diabetes Association, Kidney Foundation of Canada, Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada or Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
A memorial service for Edwin will be held on Saturday, January 18th at 1:00 pm at Chown Memorial and Chinese United Church, 3519 Cambie St, Vancouver.
