O B I T U A R Y

Diana was born on June 16th, 1957, to Felix Chong and Wong Nyit Sinn, the middle child of three children. Born in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, her brother David was just 15 months older but her sister, Delia would be born about 3 years later.

The family migrated to Vancouver, BC, Canada in December 1974. Diana completed Grade 12 at Burnaby North Senior Secondary School. She completed a course in Key Punch Operations at Vancouver Vocational School and on completion, landed a position at Bank of British Columbia (bought over later by HSBC Bank Canada). Diana had a successful and fulfilling career in this bank for 41 years, retiring in July 2016 from a management position.

Diana met Peter Sii Ching Ting through a mutual friend and they married on May 17th, 1980 after three years of a long-distance courtship. Together they welcomed two sons, Aaron Alexander on January 19th, 1986, and Byron Anthony on January 4th, 1989.

An adventurous family, Diana and Peter brought the boys with them on trips throughout Asia, and North America on many occasions while they were growing up. They travelled to Malaysia and met their extended family. It is hoped that this legacy of family ties Diana and Peter have built would be passed to their future generations.

Felix’s passing in 1993 had a profound impact on Diana’s spiritual walk and she started to grow in her knowledge and unwavering closeness to the Lord, which continued until her passing. It is by God’s grace that everything in Diana's life has been possible.

Diana is survived by her loving husband Peter, two sons: Aaron and Byron; daughter-in-law Joanne; her mother Wong Nyit Sinn; her brother David and her Sister, Delia (Kitty).
