Our deepest condolences to Grace and the Ling family in the loss of Ben.
Ben was an amazing person and an excellent IT guy. He was always so patient in helping us navigate through our computer issues. We were blessed to have known him and so sad to hear of his passing. 
Our hearts go out to you at this difficult time. 

I was a colleague of Ben for many years at the former Fraser Valley College.   He was a pleasurer to work with.  He had a great sense of humor and was a confirmed "foodie".  
We'd often do lunch and I would let Ben order for me.  Feeling smug about my adventurous dining, I told Ben that I could eat anything but tripe. Ben had a big grin on his face and when I asked him why, he said "You're eating it!"

My connection with Ben goes back to Fraser Valley College days...1988-1990's. Both of us working in IT. Ben was a very sharp tech and had strong business acumen as well. He was very purpose-driven, and I always appreciated his good nature and calming effect that he had on people. 
Sorry for your loss - may you find joy in celebrating his life.

I can honestly tell you that I knew Ben when I dispatched taxis and owned a taxi.  He was one of the coolest kind, gentle, and  smartest person with a wicked sense of humor.  It's strange that I seen that today as you never know what life is ahead of you .  I was diagnosed today with lung cancer and seeing this makes it one of the darkest  days in my life.

Ben, I am saddened for our physical worlds of friends and family for our loss of enjoying your company, and of yours, and wish that we could have continued to share many more memories of our fun times together.  At the same time I know you are not suffering anymore; cancer is such a scourge and if anything I would fight it anywhere, having suffered through many losses in my own family due to cancer. Hey Ben, you were  alway a great friend, fishing buddy and my tech guy..  Wr did a lot of adventure fishing trips & had many stories to tell. I will miss you. Rest In Peace my good friend. 

The Ben Ling we have known for over 26 years, he is first and foremost an incredible husband.   He and Grace, the perfect match; loving and caring for each other as if they have just met.  Ben and Grace are the only couple we know who are more in love in 2021 than when they first got married.  

The Ben Ling we have known for over 26 years is a wonderful father of two great kids and a proud grandfather.  Ben is also an incredible friend.  He is generous and fun.  His take on life is over the top (especially when it comes to food) and gregarious. His happiness and kindness are contagious to all his friends.   We will always remember when he and Grace were the first persons to visit  after each of our children’s birth.  We will also remember all the great duddie times - his home made electric fishing contraptions  and his appetite for the freshly caught catch. 

Ben, you will be missed but always fondly remembered.

How can you love your IT guy like a brother?  When he’s Ben Aka Rooster Ling you’d know it was easy.  Never have I met a more dedicated and caring person in this industry.  He was special for so many reasons...and he cared.  After working with him for 25 years I can truly say he was the best.  To Grace and the boys (he was so very proud of you both) my heart hurts for you.  May you find peace in the beautiful memories you have in your hearts.  I will miss getting his emails and holiday pictures of strange foods!  I will miss his gentle patient voice that talked me off a few ledges of computer crisis over the years.  I will miss Seeing pics of his grand babies and the fish that he brought in the summer.  I will never forget this special man whom I was blessed to call my friend.  My prayers are with you Grace.

Benny was one of the original Fishing Daddies/Buddies. We had so much fun fishing together and especially eating freshly caught fish in restaurants. Instead of being a computer expert Benny could have been a food critic. We dont know anyone else that ate 7 lobsters and totally enjoyed it. And all you can eat Alaska king crab that left seafood buffets with a financial loss. Benny had a great sense of humour and was also thoughtful and kind. Grace you were his one great love.
