Ajit Gill, affectionately known as Goldie, suddenly passed away April 13th at the age of 61. Goldie was born on December 6, 1962, in Chaminda, Punjab to Amarjit Kaur and Dalbara Singh (Patwari) Gill. In 1970, the family immigrated to Vancouver, BC where Goldie attended high school and university. He had a brilliant mind for the sciences and in 1984, he graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biophysics. But his true calling was the arts where he had a passion for painting, design, and film. Ajit was predeceased by his father, Dalbara. He is survived by his loving mother Amarjit , four sisters, niece and nephews. He will also be missed by his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A funeral service will be held at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home at 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver BC on Tuesday April 23, 2024 at 10am, followed by a cremation service.
A prayer service and lunch will then follow at 12 Noon at the Khalsa Diwan Society Gurdwara, 8000 Khalsa Diwan Road, Vancouver BC.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Ajit’s honour.
