Wilma Lee Madewell, 88, of Fort Smith, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 in Fort Smith. She was born September 20, 1936 in Granby, MO to the late Lee and Charlotte (Amberg) Davison. She retired from Walmart and after retirement worked in the Aurora School system as a cook and was a pastor’s wife.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Clymoth Madewell; four sisters, Virginia Akehurst, Pauline Darity, Pearl McCleary, Mae Oehring; three brothers, her twin Bill Davison, Charles Davison and Jack Davison
She is survived by her daughter, Marianne Stockton of Rudy; two sisters, Agnes Davis of Ada, OK, Jeanette Burgess of Neosho, MO; a brother Gene Davison of Granby, MO; two grandchildren, Tony Startzman and Jennifer Johnson; and seven great grandchildren, Cadence Smoot, Nic Startzman, Logan Mitchel, Ayden Startzman, Addy Startzman, Jalisa Johnson, and Alaric Startzman.
Funeral service will be 10:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2024 at Concord Baptist Church. Burial will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2024 at Spring River Cemetery in Verona, MO under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Nic Startzman, Paul Meadows, Ayden Startzman, Leo McKee, John Johnson, Logan Mitchell, and Jim Kneipp.
The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
