Sue Daugherty

Sue Daugherty, 93, of Van Buren, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 in Fort Smith. She was born October 9, 1924 in Miller, AR to the late Henry and Bess Johnson. She was a Nurse’s Aide, and an avid bird watcher. She loved her cats and dogs, and loved her family making each one feel special. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Daugherty; and a sister, Ailene Blair.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Furch of Van Buren; a son, Carl Daugherty and wife Susan of Van Buren; five grandchildren, Patrick Daugherty, Angela Stem, Sylvan Furch, Melody Haugen, and Kent Furch, twelve great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Kent Furch, Sylvan Furch, Patrick Daugherty, Gary Stem, Jason Haugen, Keith Blair, Christopher Haugen, and Melody Haugen.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
