Rothie Bugg-Duncan gained her wings on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at the age of 92, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. She was born April 13, 1932 in Central to the late John and Nettie (Pierce) Six. As a mother of five, Rothie was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her. Her remarkable ability to prioritize others ensured that everyone felt seen and heard. Rothie's hobbies included sewing, sports, gardening, and watching children. She was a proud advocate for her children, enthusiastically supporting their pursuits.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Gene Bugg and Andrew “Sonny” Duncan.
Rothie's surviving family members include her three daughters, Kathie Cunningham and husband Ricky of Mulberry, Kimberly Maxwell and husband Mark of Fort Smith, Kristy Nunley and husband Frankie of Alma; two sons, Ronny Bugg and wife Charlotte of Alex, and Tom Bugg and wife Greta of Mulberry; ten grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren; and very special friends, Robert and Sue Helmer, and Patty Gray.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 20, 2024 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at New Cemetery in Mulberry, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be her ten grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
