Rosemarie A. Cowling, 66, of Fort Smith, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024. She was born February 3, 1958 in South Amboy, NJ. Rosemarie grew up in a small copper mining town in Arizona and attended Arizona State University to study Musical Therapy after high school. She moved to Fort Worth, and met Ron, who was attending Southwestern Seminary. She continued to pursue a bachelor's degree in early childhood education while working at Texas Christian University. She and Ron married and had two beautiful daughters. She loved every second of motherhood and was so incredibly grateful that they were sent to her from the Lord. Once a wife and mother, she continued her education and attended the University of Texas at Tyler, and completed a Bachelor of Science in History and went on to complete a Texas Teacher Certification program at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. She is certified in elementary school education in Texas, Georgia, Kansas, and Colorado. She received her master's degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University. She had been teaching for 21 years.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Cowling of the home; two daughters, Sarah Gillham and husband Daniel of Castle Rock, CO, and Laura Roseman of Greensboro, NC; a brother, Alfred Quinlan of Farmville, VA; and the joys of her life, five grandsons, Samuel and Luke Gillham, and John, Milo, and Amos Roseman.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR. A small, close family, graveside memorial service will be held at Llano Cemetery, Amarillo, Texas, at a later date.
