Ricci Bernard Pyle, Sr., 68, of Van Buren, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 in Van Buren. He was born February 28, 1954 in Chester, PA to the late Howard and Beatrice Pyle. He had been a police officer for Delaware County Police Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Elizabeth Pyle, Donna Wroten, Constance Breese, and Wilhemina Patterson; and a brother, Michael V. Pyle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Colleen Pyle; five daughters, Brenda Lyons (John), Valerie Phelps (Corey), Amanda Van Meter (Erick), Kathryn Zawisza (Stuart Bailey), and Dyan Hunt (Brian); two sons, Ricci Bernard Pyle Jr. (Jodie), and Jason Zawisza (Michelina); a sister, Martha Borky (Bud); a brother, Howard W. Pyle Jr. (Patricia); fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
With a heart as large as his, Ricci was a mentor to not only family, but to friends and work colleagues alike. Ricci put his heart into everything he has ever done, until his heart could not give anymore. That is why anyone who has ever come across him, respected, and trusted him. Most of Ricci’s heart, belonged to his family. From his loving wife to his many children listed, not even one has ever doubted the love and dedication Ricci has had for them. While that is a long list of children, half of them were married into his family. Even though they are not blood, they all considered Ricci as their Pop, as well as he considered them his children. The one that they all could turn to when in need. Always there when needed the most, he wouldn’t have it any other way. In his later years, Ricci enjoyed the time he spent with all his grandchildren. Picking up where he left off when his children started their own lives, he began teaching his grandchildren the same loving values he had taught them. With a gentle hand, and tough love when needed, Ricci was sure to pass along all life has taught him. From the quick one-liners, to “The face” Ricci would make during conversations, everyone had a good time when in his company. Letting you know when he disagreed with you, as well as pretending that he was just joking when he was wrong, he never left anyone feeling that he didn’t care about their side of the conversation. Even in disagreement, he always had a way for people to feel welcomed. Ricci will forever be remembered for the great man he was.
Mr. Pyle was cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR. Services will be at a later date.
