Regina McCoy, 71, of Dyer, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 in Fort Smith. She was born June 22, 1949 in New Madrid, Missouri to Alvin Jay “Bosco” and Macie Hurtman. She was retired from McCoy Used Cars & Car Crushing. She was known by many as Momma, Mam-Maw, Nana, and Momma McCoy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Dean “JR” McCoy; and a son, Daniel McCoy.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Shearburn and husband Dale of Mulberry, and Patricia Maxwell and husband Scott of Dyer; three sons, Vincent McCoy and wife Mona of Subiaco, Alvin McCoy of Dyer, and Phillip McCoy and wife Joliene of Van Buren; a sister, Merilyn Masterson of South Haven, MI; a brother, John Alvin Hurtman of Mississippi; thirty-one grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 at New Hope Church in Rudy with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Trevor Dale Maxwell, Phillip Andrew McCoy, Jr., Timmy Hurtman, Codie Wise, Sam Ray, and Jim Dapson. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
