

Ralph Woods Scott, 83, of Van Buren, AR, died Thursday, July 5, 2012 in Van Buren, AR. He was born September 26, 1928 in Van Buren, AR. He was a retired Central Office repairman for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, served in the Army, played football and basketball at Van Buren High School, graduated Van Buren High School in 1946, was a member of First Baptist Church in Van Buren, was a member of the Old Fort Gun Club, lifetime member of North American Hunting Club and National Rifle Association, a genealogist and a member of the Echota Cherokee Indian tribe of Alabama.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Scott of the home; a daughter, Connie Stewart and her husband Phil of Texarkana, AR; two sons, Keith Scott and his wife Melissa of Van Buren, AR and David Scott of Wichita, KS; eight grandchildren, Kelsey Scott-Goswick of Fort Smith, AR, Eric Scott of Wichita, KS, Ryan Scott of Wichita, KS, Jared Scott of Wichita, KS, Adam Scott of Wichita, KS, Cody Scott of Wichita, KS, Dr. Leslie Stewart of Texarkana, AR and Kevin Stewart of Texarkana, AR and three great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at First Baptist Church Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be members of his Sunday school class at First Baptist Church in Van Buren.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Don Campbell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, July 6, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
