Ralph Myers, 83, of Alma, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at his home. He was born January 15, 1934 in Ottumwa, IA to the late Cecil and Evelyn Myers. He was a retired mechanic for Arkansas-Oklahoma Gas. He was a member of Northside United Pentecostal Church in Fort Smith, where he served as Sunday School Secretary for over 20 years. He was an active supporter of the Tupelo Children’s Mansion in Tupelo, MS, and a supporter of St. Jude’s. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of the home; a daughter, Sheril Patrick and husband Ron of Fort Smith; a son, Perry Myers of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Staci Pollard and husband Taylor of Fort Smith, and Lexi Patrick of Fort Smith; a great-granddaughter, Eliza Jane Pollard of Fort Smith; and two nieces, Kathy Rogers and Nancy Lamoreux both of Fort Smith.
Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Northside United Pentecostal Church in Fort Smith with interment to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Todd Bolton, Mike Bolton, Corey Ramey, Billy Bolton, Gary Kindy, Jr., and Alan Vaught. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Kindy, Sr., Dennis Bolton, and Taylor Pollard.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
