Patricia Mae Poling

Patricia Mae Drake Poling, 67, of Proctor, Okla. passed away Friday, August 5, 2022 at her home. She was born September 7, 1954 in Borger, Texas to the late Carl and Ona Mae (Marston) Drake. Patricia obtained her Bachelor's in Microbiology from West Texas A&M University. She worked in the hospital laboratory setting for over 28 years, where she excelled in trauma ER and clinical settings. She had a very special gift with her patients. She could make nearly any situation laughable, bringing comfort during times of distress. She was a member of The American Society of Clinical Pathology.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carlene Brown and Shirley Heath.

She is survived by two daughters, Lindsey Goodwin of Alma, and Melissa Defries of Van Buren; a son, Laramie Defries of Alma; nine grandchildren, Isaiah Warnock, Kayla Clark, Jacob Rodriguez, Dallon Goodwin, Tucker Defries, Audrey Defries, Drake Goodwin, Finleigh Jolene Defries, and Shayli Goodwin; and one great-grandchild, Evie Clark.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Chester Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Cleveland Hufford, Marty Anderson, Jacob Rodriguez, Isaiah Warnock, Tim Tufts, Kyle Goodwin, and Zach Bliss.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
