Martin Howard Somerville

Marty Somerville, 68, of Fort Smith, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023. He was born May 2, 1955 in Wichita, KS to the late Edwin and Dorotha (Rhoman) Somerville, Sr. He was a carpenter and a musician.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Martin D. Somerville and Shawn Martin Somerville; a half-brother, Edwin Martin Somerville, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Kalyx Rose Flynn.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila Somerville of the home; two daughters, Mellisa Melson and Josh Srock of Kansas, and Brandie Flynn and husband Brett of Van Buren; a stepdaughter, Denise Marie Johnson of Fort Smith; a stepson, David L. Elswick of Arkansas; two sisters, Roberta Jordan and husband Dee of Wichita, and Irene Weeks of Missouri; three brothers, Calvin Gene Allen of Illinois, Earl Wayne Allen of Van Buren, and Shawn Somerville of Texas; seven grandchildren, Wyatt Colt Flynn, Jhett Micheal Flynn, Nicole Melson, Jaden Melson, Kaleigh Somerville, Mark Somerville, and Hannah Somerville; and a great-granddaughter, Lillie Somerville.

Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR. There are no services scheduled at this time.
