Katie Lynn Freeman, 41, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, following a three-year battle with cancer. Katie was close to God and cherished the friends she had made, many of whom were her brothers and sisters in Christ.
Katie's illness did not defeat her; she defeated the illness. Her faith only grew stronger; her Bible, worn from study and filled with countless notes, is a testimony to that unwavering faith. In the end, she understood how truly temporary this earthly life really is, and she accepted it with calmness and peace. She embraced the reality of death not with fear but with a yearning to be with God and His Son.
Katie accomplished many things, but she is best remembered for when she lived in Wyoming and worked to assist people with physical and intellectual disabilities. She had a gift that was extraordinary.
Katie was preceded in death by her father, Pat Odell Freeman. She is survived by her mother, Sandra Hoeser Freeman Walker and stepfather, Jerry Walker of Van Buren; and her brother, Thomas Sterling Freeman and wife Dianna of Houston.
A family-hosted memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at Rena Road Church of Christ, 100 Rena Road, Van Buren, AR.
