Karen Steward, 67, of Alma, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 19, 2018 at her home. She was born January 18, 1951 in Fort Smith to the late Jack and Nadine White. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. She loved spending time with friends and family, especially her granddaughters. She always had a smile on her face, and lived life with no regrets.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Steward of the home; a daughter, Shilo Blackwell and husband Kelly of Alma; two sisters, Linda DeShazo of Rudy, and Sherry McCarthy of Missouri; and two granddaughters, Sydney and London Blackwell of Alma.
Family-hosted memorial will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Alma. Committal will be held privately at the Fort Smith National Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Parks, Rick Green, Mark Sterling, Gary Osborne, Mike McConnell, and Harold Hill.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
