Jimmy A. McClanahan, 74, of Alma, died Sunday, May 16, 2010 in Fort Smith. He was born January 24, 1936 in Grundy, Virginia. He was a retired owner of McClanahan Trailer in Hayward, CA, a member of Butterfield Assembly of God Church in Van Buren, and a volunteer firefighter for District 1 in Crawford County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann McClanahan, and one son.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Macias of Alma, AR; three sons, Jack McClanahan and his wife Joann of Alma, AR, Kevin McClanahan and his wife, Connie of Livermore, CA, and Kennith McClanahan and his wife, Nancy of Alma, AR; one brother, Ralph McClanahan of Hayward, CA; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 21, 2010 at Edwards Van-Alma Chapel with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Alma under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jack McClanahan, Kevin McClanahan, Kennith McClanahan, Cody Macias, David Varner and Sean Vrbas.
Honorary pallbearer will be Ralph McClanahan.
The family will visit with friends from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR.
