From a young age, Doyle had a natural talent for sports, excelling in baseball, football, track, skateboarding, and water skiing. He was part of a high school state championship baseball team and held an Oklahoma state record in the high jump. His athletic success led him to a professional baseball career with the Montreal Expos.
Following his time in baseball, Doyle returned to another passion – carpentry – a trade he learned from both his father and his Uncle Earl. He had a unique ability to fix just about anything, from a broken appliance to a car that had seen better days.
Doyle was most at home on a ball field, dedicating much of his free time to coaching youth sports and inspiring young athletes. His children will always remember him for the countless hours he spent playing with them in the yard, always up for a game of catch or shooting hoops. His love for sports and working with his hands was matched only by his love for his family.
Beyond his talents and accomplishments, Doyle will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. He never hesitated to help a friend or lend a hand to someone in need. Whether it was fixing a neighbor’s car or simply sharing a warm smile and a good story, he made an impact on everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dana Johnson Green of Alma, AR; his daughter, Tori Endres and husband Paul of Brecksville, OH; two sons, Wade Green and Doyle Green III, both of Alma; a sister, Pamela Robertson and husband Jamie of Tahlequah; a brother, Joe Green and wife Martha of Tahlequah; and two grandchildren, Quinn and Graham Endres, who adored their Pop Pop.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Concord Baptist Church in Van Buren. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
