David G. “Dave” Parker, 76, of Van Buren, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 in Little Rock. He was born March 7, 1940 in Clovis, CA to the late Jack and Geneva Parker. He was a retired dentist with DP Dental & Lab in Russellville; also practiced in Visalia and Clovis, CA, and served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Chet Parker.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Parker of the home; two daughters, Karrie Heedt of Colorado Springs, and Shanna Hickman-Copeland of Van Buren; five sons, David Parker of Ligioner, PA, Vince and Shawn Parker both of Clarksville, Wade Hickman of Fort Smith, and Shawn Hickman of Greenwood; two sisters, Judy Mann of Rohnert Park, CA, and Jeannie Parker of Clovis; twenty-two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Alma, with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
