David C. Coombes

David C. Coombes, 76, of Van Buren, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Fort Smith. He was born October 28, 1941 in Cedarville. He was a retired tile setter for 50 years, owner/operator of D & L Tile Company and a long haul trucking company. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; wife, Shirley and granddaughter, Dea Jai “DJ”.

He is survived by two daughters, Revona “Crickett” Coombes Short and husband Rick of Lavaca, and Leona “Sam” Crowe of Figure Five; two stepdaughters, Sherry Redding of Van Buren, and Melinda Hay of Fort Smith; a stepson, Gary Crawford of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Anah Dea Crowe, Ethan Crowe and Alex Crowe, all of NW Arkansas; four step-grandchildren, Christopher and Josh Coombes of Van Buren, and Christinia and Justin Gregory of Fort Smith; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
