Charles R. “Charlie” Morse, Sr., 64, of Van Buren passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 in Tulsa. He was born December 26, 1951 in Mulberry. He was a truck driver, a member of First Baptist Church of Alma, and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his father, D.C. Morse.
He is survived by his wife, Terri Morse of the home; a daughter, Summer McAfee and husband Scott of Krebs, OK; three sons, Chuck Morse of Fort Smith, Johnny Drummond and wife Krystal of Tulsa, and Joseph Morse of Alma; his mother, Dorothy Morse of Mulberry; two sisters, Lois Ann Smither and husband Kenneth of the Pleasant View Community, and Dawn Thomas and husband Chuck of Alma; a brother, Gary Wayne Morse, Sr. and wife Bea of Mulberry; and ten grandchildren, T.J., Lexus and Samuel McAfee of Krebs, OK, Alex and Hallie Drummond of Fort Smith, James, Becca, Bobbie and Joe Morse of Fort Smith, and Brilyn Drummond of Tulsa.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at the Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Gordon, Kelly Smither, Anthony Smither, Zachary Thomas, Jeffrey Thomas, and Samuel McAfee. Honorary pallbearers will be Amy Gordon, Emily Thomas, Madilyn Thomas, and Heather Smither.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
