Bobby Jack Burns, Sr., 90, of Van Buren, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in Fayetteville. He was born April 28, 1931 in Fort Worth to the late William and Nettie (Gunsolus) Burns. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict, and was a retired welder. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and loved traveling, fishing, people, and the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita; a daughter, Leisa Lehtinen; and a son, James Moon.
He is survived by his wife Hazel Burns of the home; three daughters, Angie Madril of San Bernardino, CA, Yvette Hoehle of Tucson, and Yvonne Johnson of Malibu, CA; two sons, Bobby Burns of Van Buren, and Ken Moon of Whitmore, CA; two stepsons, Baker Evans and Jeff Evans, both of Northwest Arkansas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Ashes will be interred at Fort Smith National Cemetery.
