Lewis Ray “Cowboy” Hardin, age 59, of Morganton, NC, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Carolinas Medical Center, in Charlotte, NC.
Mr. Hardin was born on July 12, 1957, in Washington, D.C., to the late Bobby Lawrence Hardin and Bonnie Hardin Sipes.
He worked as a furniture sprayer for Henredon Furniture Company and attended Calvary Baptist Church and Summit Community Church in Morganton.
Mr. Hardin enjoyed singing and was a member of the choir at church. He was a very loving and caring person, who would give the shirt off of his back to help anyone in need. Mr. Hardin also served as a board member at the House of Refuge. He loved to fish and he loved people. He was known to have never met a stranger. Most of all, Mr. Hardin loved the Lord and he loved his family. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hardin was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Kenneth Hardin.
Surviving Mr. Hardin are his daughter, Robin Hardin Moser, of Lenoir; a son, Timothy (Casey) Hardin, of Statesville; two brothers, Jeffrey (Della) Hardin, of Morganton and Vernon Hardin of Chesterfield; a sister, Bobbi Hardin, of Hudson; and five grandchildren, Kianna and Zachary Moser, Noah, Elijah and Evelyn Hardin.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at 3:00 PM, at Summit Community Church, in Morganton, with Pastor Mike Chandler officiating.
