Richard Lopez

Richard V. Lopez, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Brother left to be with his Almighty Father, Thursday August 26, 2021. Peacefully and in comfort at his home with his wife and daughters present.

Born Ricardo Vega Lopez March 9, 1925 in Watts CA, to parents Eduardo and Flavia Lopez.

Richard or Tata as the Grandchildren call him, spent 40 years in the business machine industry. He spent his career with three fortune 500 Companies in Insurance, Engineering and Aerospace. He devoted his life to the love of Jesus Christ in the Catholic Church. After Surviving WWII he married his first love Mary Gloria Sambrano, also from Watts, on September 9, 1950. Richard and Gloria settled in Downey CA and were blessed with 5 children and 32 years of marital bliss. After four years a single man, his world was ready to be rocked again and in bounced Barbara. Richard remarried May 17, 1986 to Barbara Zittle and they spent the last 35 golden years together. They enjoyed Church, Travel, friends and family from their headquarters in Rancho Cucamonga.

Richard is survived by Barbara his wife and his children Mark and Mary-Ann Harders, Richard and Elsie Lopez, Joseph Lopez and Michelle Nelson, and Greg and Valerie Doran. Step Children Terry and Claire Simpson and Bill and Susan Prescott. 18 Grandchildren, 4 Step Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren. His brother Paul and Sister Mela. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria and son Luke.

He is deeply loved by many and will be forever missed. Services are Tuesday October 5, 2021 St Joseph’s Catholic Church 877 N Campus Upland CA 91768 Rosary 9:30am, Mass 10:00am
