Nicholas lived in Alta Loma with his mom Walli Jean, and dad, Brian. His older brother Shaun lives in Upland.
Since January he contracted a virus that lingered on and affected his immune system. He started to experience dizziness, weakness and was unable to stand. He was confined to bed where he was receiving in home Physical Therapy and was making good progress and healing.
The Saturday that he passed was a happy day of joking with mom and dad and playing Star Trek Online.
Later that evening, he experienced stomach pain, sweating, shortness of breath and chest pain. Emergency Services were in route, when he passed out. Sadly, he was not able to be revived. He died at his bedside from a Pulmonary Embolism.
The most important things in life to Nicholas were family, friends, neighborhood walks with his mom, visiting neighbors and being with family and friends. He loved animals and showed great compassion for them. He loved his two rescue kitties, Cali and Luna and enjoyed our backyard’s wildlife of birds, bunnies, squirrels, hummingbirds, Blue Jays and Monarch butterflies. He loved going to the the LA County Fair, feeding the animals and buying “cool stuff”.
He loved driving around our foothills, especially during holidays to see the decorations. He loved and enjoyed trips to San Diego, Sea World, Seaport Village, the beach and Hawaii.
Nicholas was a collector of many things. Yu-Gi-Oh, Funko Pop Figures, Halo, Star Wars, Assassins Creed, Amibos and wall art, just to name a few. He loved anime movies, Star Wars, Avengers and Mandalorian.
He loved gaming and played a wide variety of games; Elder Scrolls, Destiny, Mario, God of War, Animal Crossing and others. He played World of Warcraft for years but Star Trek Online was his favorite. Online he met people from all over the world. He enjoyed reading novels on Assassins Creed, Halo, Elder Scrolls, The Hobbit, and manga. He was also a popular reviewer on Google Maps.
Nicholas had a photographic memory for what he read, saw and experienced. He could converse on any subject. He enjoyed science, space, and technology. He especially loved history, both ancient and recent. He found it relevant for understanding our world today.
Nicholas loved making new friends. He had many, both near and far away. He believed in being nice. One of his core values was to not judge people by outward appearances, but to get to know them first. His sense of humor and broad interests kept family and friends from having tunnel vision in life. He loved having fun and just kicking back with family and friends.
Our grief at his passing is beyond measure. He is Loved and Missed every minute of every day. We pray that he has found the joy and peace he deserves. Though we grieve, we also celebrate the gift of his life and the memories he gave us. He was a great son, brother and friend to all that knew him.
